Dear folks

I'm the owner of the prestige internet domain name
http://www.londontaxi.co.uk

After ignoring quite a few serious offers for it over the years I have now
decided to offer it for sale

Further details are available at http://www.londontaxi.co.uk

Can anybody suggest who would be most likely to puchase this ?

Thanks & regards

Surely it's got to be worth a few bob to the lads at LTI, or maybe even Cabdirect. :D

Just to be nosey, what offers have you turned down? :-k

Over the years I've owned it I've had a number of offers from Mushers that usually dont go higher than a few hundred quid and a couple of serious offers from Taxi Fleet operators

The best one was just over a year ago and was the US$ equivalent of just over £8k

That was a company that wanted to use it as a general tourism site

I would have took the 8k. I doubt you will get an offer that good. Why don't you try the domain name auctions?

Private Hire can not buy this domain name, well not in London anyway, PCO states quite clearly PH can NOT use the words Taxi or Cab in their advertising, contravens the licensing laws you see, and guess what :?:

websites are covered by the same regulations as they are afterall advertising.

Would not tuch it with yours Ollie

As far as I'm aware there is nothing stopping a LPH firm operating a few taxis on their circuits.

So if they did that then they could advertise as a taxi outfit.

True enough

I am a PCO licensed PH operator but I also take TAXI bookings ( Mainly white wedding taxis )

You cannot advertise a minicab as a "Taxi" ( or even use the word "CAB" amazingly enough ) but a PH operator can quite legally take private hire bookings for TAXIs and use "taxi" in his promotional efforts that relate to his TAXI's

Sorry guy's you need to read the reg's again weddings are regulated differently, in fact you do not even have to have a PCO operators license for these

The word TAXI is not allowed to be used in any form of advertising if you hold a PCO PH operators lincense.

Take care

I agree with Eric.

Especially as he shares the same thoughts as me, on a certain Radio enthusiast that frequents this site.

I'm intrigued why as a Licensed Minicab driver / operator you use the name London Taxi.

Having looked at the site I can see no facility to either book a genuine Taxi for work or weddings as you claim above. In fact all I can see is adverts for Minicabs playing on the word 'cab', and worst still offers to take you to the Airport in presumably unlicensed Limo's ?

Could you direct us to the obvious part of the site that relates to genuine London Taxis and not Minicabs then? :-k
