big help required please!!!! the borough i wish to work for says that from this month all new vehicles coming on for first time need to be EURO 6. im struggling for help through internet , or is it just me? is this going to cost me an arm and a leg ? my original budget of 9K for a 64 plate for an Avensis 2.2. is out the window it seems , whats out there to keep an eye on at a reasonable price without going to a main dealer used forecourt, wasnt until yesterday id even been aware of euro 6? thanks for any advice. |

I'm guessing it's Euro 6 just for diesels. My council has just introduced the above, but Euro 4 for petrols. |

Ask your council for a list of vehicles as seating may also be an issue. |

There will be some Euro 6 vehicles on the second hand market as they have been around for 2 or more years now depending on the model Most euro 6 diesels are overstressed highly turbocharged small engines and their longevity is a little suspect I have heard plenty of tales of vehicles having new engines at only 90k miles I would suggest a petrol or hybrid would be your best bet |
