Although I believe it has been around for a few months, I have only just discovered that it is possible to set up a tipping prompt on iZettle.

Having now set it up, everybody, so far, (all three of them!) has hit the 'no' button!

Has anyone using iZettle, with the tipping prompt, noticed an upturn in tips??

Nope, never been tipped when paying by card - I think they use them just so they don't have to.

We have an option to add a percentage of the fare as a tip (cabcard), but in order to do that you have to ask the customer if they'd like to tip, embarrasing. When they say yes and I ask 'how much, 10, 20, 30% ? ' They then want to know how much that is as they cant work it out. They much prefer to just round it up or take 50p for yourself.

Recently, I was asking if it was OK to round up the odds 'to cover my costs.' Most people went along with it without batting an eyelid.

I'll give the tip prompt a few more weeks but I may go back to my old method.

I didn't know it had one.

I think I would get the hump if a punter declined to tip if requested, so maybe it's best I don't use it.

Go into 'settings,' 'cards.' The option is there to turn on tipping prompt.

I must admit that it is a bit deflating when you hear someone hit the 'no' button.
