As your insurance policy with PolicyPlan is underwritten by Gefion Insurance A/S, we would like to make you aware of recent changes in Danish regulation which may affect you.

Gefion Insurance is based in Denmark and policyholders are currently protected in case of insolvency by the Danish Guarantee Fund. However, due to changes made to the Danish legal structure the Guarantee Fund will change the way in which it operates from 1st January 2019.

From this date, should a Danish insurer become insolvent, the fund will only cover claims from policies that have been taken out in Denmark itself. This means that from 1st January 2019 you will be covered by the UK's Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and will be subject to the terms and conditions that apply to it. Further information on the scheme can be found on the FSCS website.
