A driver came into my dad’ shop last week and made a comment that he can earn up to £150 a day just on Council jobs alone. I don’t know if that’s nonsense or not but he was adamant that it was those jobs that actually made him good money, before he even thinks about working the ranks, taking other jobs etc.

We have a school run that is £125.00 per day

but they do have long holidays

Interesting. Would you say the drivers without a radio get anywhere close to the earnings of those with one. Assuming they put in the same hours?

Okay, thanks. I’m going to phone a couple of cab owners who rent out their cabs tonight to find out more about the insurance side of things.

Looking at what’s available cab wise and this seems competitively priced. Any experience of them on the forum?

Got a few down here, seem ok.

Not sure what state they will be in in 6 years though.

That's that sorted.

Suggest the thread starter contacts the council for a list of acceptable vehicles.

The drivers I’ve spoken to speak highly of the Mercedes Vito but it’s pricey. The Peugeot offerings look decent as does the Ford Procab which I’ve seen around the city.

id hang back on the mercedes for the moment as theres a stooshie going on right now about their emissions, but my mate swears by it,had one for 4 years and just replaced it with the new txe
the E7 is no more,it was replaced by the procab, but there certainly not proven yet,my other mates got one,10 weeks off the road with electrical problems, even had the ford gurus from englandshire up to allied who were unable to fix it, and they couldnt get to the root of the problems either, ended up giving him a replacement vehicle, none of them are perfect its just a matter of finding what suits you

If and when I drive myself, the school holidays will be my only option as I work in a school!
