Strictly, it's 'The March of the Toreadors' from the opera 'Carmen' by Georges Bizet. We have a boxed set LP with Maria Callas in the title role.

Does anyone listen to Classic FM?

There's some fabulous music played. I often put it on in the car on a Saturday night. It has a remarkably calming effect on some of the idiots which 'headbanging' stuff just seems to wind them up.

From January, you can vote for your favourites in their compilation of the 'Classic FM Top 300 Hall of Fame!'

My entries will be Symphony no 36 from Linz, Mozart; Rossini William Tell Overture and The Lark Ascending by Vaughan-Williams.
