After lawyers and doctors have complained that whilst they live in their 4 bedroom double garaged semi....their next door neighbour is a taxi driver(jealous [edited by admin]) that the local councils are getting stricter and the tax man is keeping a close eye on cabbies....

put it this way, if it wasnt for the quick money no one would be a cabbie so if they make life difficult then they may face a transport headache...

i fookin hate silver spoond [edited by admin]!

Why your obsession with earnings ?

i havent got an obsession, im worried by the greed of Mr Brown and his tactics of trying to squeeze every penny out of us.

i had a doctor in my car 2 weeks ago, and i said nice house, he said well its not much of an achievement if my neighbour is a taxi driver.

and i think that with the talk of Mercs and Beamers in taxis eventually this taxi bubble will burst.

I suspect that if the tax man got rid of all the cheats then there would still be plenty of drivers, but not the oversupply that blights many areas at present.

So it's win-win if you ask me, for drivers and the taxpayer, but of course the cheats won't like it. :-({|=

i agree with you on the fact theres too many drivers but the idiotic ones will go through the hassle and see it out but the genuine nice guys will see it as just a waste and give up.

i bet you if every single taxi driver went on strike it would do more damage to the economy than a terrorist attack on Canary Wharf.

Personally I think it would be the other way round.

I just can't see every taxi driver going on strike over anything.

And I doubt if it would do too much damage either - people would just rely on other forms of transport, who would benefit, as happens when the buses go on strike.

Strikes are never popular with the public either, and if the strike was over what you allude to then the trade would do itself a lot of damage.
