Our beloved insurances have some interesting questions on them and i wondered just how far back they feel need to dig..

how long are you expected to suffer for mistakes, its ironic when the person asking wasnt born in some cases..

debt, convictions (minor), medical events, etc...

even priests would struggle to get insured in some cases...

Don’t forget, you don’t have to declare convictions that are ‘spent’ ( under the rehabilitation of offenders act)

The questionnaire SHOULD state the limitations of the time periods, or restrictions place upon questions by law..... not simply "have you" (had)....

being vague or ambiguous is tantamount to trying to trap people

Taxi Drivers are exempt from the "the rehabilitation of offenders act," all convictions must be declared no matter how long ago.

Whether we declare stuff or not is irrelevant, unless there is a licensing requirement to do say.

The DBS should return with stuff on whether we declare it or not.

I'm not talking daft, we have to disclose stupid things from over 35 years ago even though they're on the DBS when it drops through the letter box.

we've always had to there's nowt wrong with that it just demonstrates to the council that you are being honest which is a trait they are trying to establish

So I presume you are talking about 1984 ish and when you were a follower of the teachings of guru scargill

I’m not talking about disclosure to the council or an employer where you may be working with vulnerable adults/children. For the purpose of insurance, the rehabilitation of offenders act is relevant and you do NOT have to declare any ‘spent’ convictions.
