I just use me private bank account for standing orders, ie vehicle finance, union fees, odd council fees, and direct debits etc, the only time I use a cheque is when insurance renewal comes round 4 times a year, |

i would say no it does not need to be a "business" account but it is best to have a seperate account from your personal(ie mortgage, council tax, gas/leccy etc) one. One for your business, one for your personal stuff. I ran for the first couple of years with just a seperate curret account and hector didnt question this when i was raped.......i mean investigated as all the bank statements were availible to them

i have a business account that i pay takings in to and all my bills for the running of the motor etc and have a D/D set up to pay myself a weekly wage in to my joint account that the wife can use and when you set up a buisness account its usualy free banking for the first year. always best to keep work and personal accounts seprerate as makes thing easy to keep trak off and also keeps the wife from speanding to much
another good one is to pay your fuel and any other costs with a VISA card and pay it of each month. |
