Holy sh*t guys the times they are changing... I am amazed at how many of the old faces/nicks are still going...Wannabeeahack, Trotsky, Edders, Sussex etc. I honestly thought if I did a search you might be gone... Old taxi drivers never die they just fade away... have we lost anyone of note? |

I think the trade is as interesting now as it's ever been. Especially with these app upstarts. ![]() Has the likes of Uber effected plate prices in your manor, as they have halved them in B&H. |

Aye the times they are changing that's for sure but it's good to see some of you are still hanging in there and I know it can't be easy... Uber and Ph are pretty much putting the final nails in the taxi coffin lid up here according to what I am reading on their FB pages... and plate values are nothing like what they were... oh you can still ask for around 20K but I don't think they are actually changing hands for these prices and drivers are a lot harder to come by so what does that tell you... It's the old story though, if you are young and can put the hours in you still might make a few quid... I really wouldn't want to be part of the old guard grinding it out there now.

I'm still driving. Bought a 17 reg Vito. Still making a decent living, but whittled it down to 3 or 4 days now. I'm sitting back at watching the 'electric revolution' and how they evolve over the next few years before I go down that line. If this new Vito tourer is launched with a 220 mile real time range next year, and penso continue to convert them for our COF's, I may well join the 'revolution'

I reckon the electric version would be around the £60-70,000 mark. ? |
