We have 2 bigger jobs in tomorrow one a £200 job to a well known south coast town the other £120 airport (request me) so offered the £200 job to all the drivers available tomorrow none would take it but 3 would do my airport job  so going to have to send another driver to pick up Heathrow and I'm heading down the M23

had a £400 job in Tuesday last and only one driver would take it

it used to be in this trade that the bigger the job the more wanted it not any more

the crunch comes on Sunday as there is a return on the £200 one and an 8 seater Heathrow at the same time

Some drivers don't need bundles of cash and are happy to potter about locally.

Also Friday around the M25 isn't a bucket of fun.

That said the more time I'm out of town the better, but I don't do cheap.

The £200 job is about 320 miles round trip so not much better there.

you can say that again at one point an idiot in a mini in front of me decided to bounce it off the Bentley in front

Everybody from both vehicles was out of the car standing in the carriageway within 10 seconds

Oh and I don't think either vehicle has as much as a scratch

7 and a quarter hours so £225 divided by 7.25 is £31 an hour less running costs

will be leaving at 10.30 to go back for the return hopefully under 7 hours for the return trip

return from the Grafitti capital of Britain was about 6 hours so that was averaging £37.50 an hour  fuel was a shade under £49 but also did a few local jobs before I went

On 60p a mile you're only making 15p a mile if you use HMRC's running costs of 45p a mile. I used to reckon I needed to earn £28 an hour to cover running costs, earn minimum wage and then break even. I could make more profit doing local £10 jobs than going to the airport. Seaside runs were only a mile down the road!
