| Post subject: | later drinking hours |
I know it has to settle down a bit yet but anyone out there who works predominately at night got any experiences to share as to what later drinking has done to their business. Certainly by my own experience it has spread things out and made for less hectic nights. However, on the other hand my earnings have been down considerably since its inception and so says most of my realistic, honest colleagues!! This despite working more hours. Always thought it would be a bummer for us. Anyone want to give me their own, genuine only please, thought/experiences etc. ? I have done my own market research with some surprising results - may let you know later !! [/b]

I have Found it to be quite possittive in warrington if your an hackney driver don't know about p/h like you say its less hectec we have also found because cars are available on rank more often we are getting more trade as when everthing kicked out at once everyone went everywhere some to ranks some to p/h office and some walked out of the town centre a bit to flag down a cab i must say my earnings are up at least £50 a night in week and at least a £100 pound up at weekend. |

As I'm always asleep at such iffy times I can only go on what my mates say. Both the taxi and PH boys are still earning the same but having to work longer for it. As for the extended hours when some clubs chuck out at certain times and others at different times, I not that sure it happens. From what I hear the clubs still all seem to all chuck out at the same times. Maybe they are worried about losing custom to one another.

I work in london as a ph driver and have found it has made no difference at all. I know alot of clubs that got a late licence but have not used it. The later it gets the less people drink so its not worth them staying open. Out of london my friends say that the clubs are closing later but all closing at the same time so no difference there. |

I think takings are up because drivers are working longer hours. |

Only some drivers, presumably, because if all were working longer hours then they would just be taking the same.

Don't do pubs & clubs myself, normally just take back the punters we took out, so the affect it has had on us is more waiting time generally, which is fine all providing the driver does not have an early airport run and got enough kip before he took them out. Still can always put the seat back and kip in the car whilst waiting
Regards Eric
