so who is working and who is skiving this new years eve ? I am manning the phones and going out to cover 8 seater bookings this year but it isn't looking busy so could be a really rubbish new year For those working I hope you have a trouble free and lucrative evening for those skiving hope you have a nasty hangover in the morning and vow never again happy new year everyone |

We have 2 drivers working and everyone else is off. I have just come into the office to issue the jobs and then I am going to a party at my ex wife's. |

I'll be out doing the usual sit around waiting until 7 minutes before the hour when bookings go out, arrive at job at booked time, wait another couple of minutes until someone opens the door and says 'two minutes mate' - then no job after another five minute wait. Then sit doing nothing until the next round of bookings go out 7 minutes before they're due - and repeat the above again ! Then once it hits 10pm sit and do hardly anything until after midnight cos everyones out, then get a mad rush at 1230, then after that it's dribs and drabs for the rest of the night. On top of that every cab in towns out because 'its the busiest night of the year' (no it is'nt) and every punters complaining about the higher rates and how their cab never turned up at the booked time (yes it did but got fed up waiting because you were'nt ready) or that they've waited ages for a cab (becuase everyone books one for 7pm,8pm,9pm - try booking between those times when were all sat around doing FA). |

Haven’t worked one since ‘98. Have a safe and prosperous night to all of those who are working. |

Quote: so who is working and who is skiving this new years eve ? Just dropped Heathrow, and back home. Will come back out 8.00am tomorrow. Sadly the Heathrow was a freebie, but at least I can get the ice cream and sweets out now.

Quote: I am manning the phones and going out to cover 8 seater bookings this year but it isn't looking busy so could be a really rubbish new year From what I saw on motorway, and in the city on way back, it doesn't look as it will be too clever down here. The lads working after 12.00 will quite rightly earn a few quid, but not sure it will be that busy before midnight. |

The main entertainment of the night was watching the 18-20 year olds getting more and more [edited by admin] as the night went on and then trying to get a taxi into town, they had no chance. |
