There are a couple of hundred thousand cabs and drivers sitting idle as a result of all this.
In other times this resource would have been put to good use.
All the drivers are DBS checked and all the vehicles are insured to carry out commercial work.
Despite all this there seems to be some sort of crisis.
One customer was looking for his regular Ocado home delivery, only to find he was 30,000th in the queue!
The Supermarkets are screaming out for delivery drivers, yet will only deal through agencies and want people on their payroll.
Add to this the expense of a fleet of vehicles they do not have and............

Sorry but I don't bloody get it! Did the adults all leave the room or something?
Beware the Clowns I was once told, but it would seem that all we have are Clowns and idiots

That is nothing to do with the volunteering scheme.

I wonder how the insurance companies will view all these volunteers suddenly carrying goods in connection with a trade or business? Delivering for a shop would count as such whether the driver is getting paid or not.

I suspect many rules are going to go out the window.

Can't see a court viewing any volunteering activity, during this sh** show, as illegal, nor any insurance company withdrawing cover or not paying out on a claim on that basis.
