I think the level of foreign aid is set in the statutes as a percentage of GDP. |

so It will be lower as GDP will have fallen sharply BUT there are a lot of countries out there without the resources and ability to cope so cutting foreign aid now would be a humanitarian disaster |

MR T wrote: Foreign aid should it not be used here now we gave 14Billion out in 2019 Understand, but disagree. Many moons ago, and over a 15/20 year period, Mrs Sussex working with the gov and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, worked in about 20/30 African countries teaching best practice in some very very poor areas, to help them reduce the horrible levels of maternity deaths. This was funded out of our tax payers money, but I suspect over the last 20/30 years that has saved many 100s of 1000s of babies and their mothers lives. Best money this country will ever spend. |

Quite simply, it is in the statute so wont be stopped. There is a worldwide agreement that various countries, including ours contribute something like 0.7% of GDP towards foreign aid and I don't think that this will be changing. |
