The Press always refer to the year before secondary School as year 6!....Why is that when there is still a P7 in existence P1 (4/5 Yo's) P2 (5/6Yo's) P3 (6/7 Yo's) P4 (7/8 Yo's) P5 (8/9 Yo's) P6 (9/10 Yo's) P7 (10/11Yo,s)....then off to First year at Secondary.

Northumberland has a Middle School to confuse the Matter that covers between 7 and 11 Yo's.

So why is it that the Media always refers to those in P7 as year 6???

Unless P7 is a Scottish thing only, but if it is they still talk about it as year 6.

My son had an email from his daughters school. she is in year 10 so exams next year. They are going back to school on June 8th. However it is only for 30 minutes a week for a one to one meting with her class tutor. :roll: I wonder how that will work for the kids that use school transport or taxis?

It would appear from these ministerial updates every thing is for individual schools to sort out,do not think this has been considered by ministers but what can you expect they are not the brightest of people at solving problems,just put the onus on someone else to solve.

the school i go to has exams in burglary, arson, the justice system, how to apply for parole, arson for beginners and sheep rustling

thinks "porridge"+"brassic" with a bit of "shameless" added for good measure

I may be wrong but I thought it was somewhere in the 1847 act.

Phew, took some finding.
Looks like it was repealed in 2010, but in 2007 the Public Health (control of disease) Act 1984 said ;


Duty of owner, driver or conductor of public conveyance.

(1)
The owner, driver or conductor of a public conveyance used for the conveyance of passengers at separate fares shall not convey in it a person whom he knows to be suffering from a notifiable disease.

Thought there was something in the main taxi Acts but can't find it. Pretty sure it's in our byelaws (which might be what I was thinking of).
