I have taken to checking the number of cases by lower tier authority for the local districts and there have been no new cases locally for 7 days So SKDC is at 164 and not risen for a week Rutland at 35 and not risen for 10 or more days and Pete if you haven't checked Melton has only had 73 cases and this also has not increased for a few days If anyone doesn't know how to check look here ( England only) https://lginform.local.gov.uk/reports/view/lga-research/covid-19-case-tracker scroll down to the interactive map and point the mouse at the outline of your LA fingers crossed we are out of the wood locally |

Let's hope this continues, and maybe a vaccine and cure can be forthcoming in the near future. Cos it's going to take an awful lot of good news to get our trade anywhere near the level it was pre covid. |

Cos it's going to take an awful lot of good news to get our trade anywhere near the level it was pre covid. trade was in decline before Covid but I suspect 75 percent of pre covid levels might be the best we will achieve. Some people have discovered they can manage without taxis and many are learning that visits to the doctors are a thing of the past. Going out to the pubs and restaurants was already in decline and this will accelerate that trend. What is needed is some sort of government scheme to shrink trade numbers but I suspect the swelling ranks of the unemployed will bring hordes of naive new blood into the clutches of Uber, Lyft and the plate barons |

tell her that Melton is in the lowest 10 councils in the UK for pangolin flu and that the 73 includes all the ones who have died or recovered so along with Rutland you will probably be one of the first declared free of covid |

The other 4 in between were in the South West. |

Covid 19 is a coranavirus, as is the common cold. There is no evidence to support your claim that the virus has evolved from pangolins or bats. Did you not study probability whilst studying A level science. |

Did you not study probability whilst studying A level science. It's a joke name for it reflecting the irony that the newspapers were plugging the ridiculous theory that it was passed to humans by eating the cute animals If you want to talk probability the most probable "source" of covid 19 is that it is a mutation of the flu virus i.e. it was this years winter flu albeit a far more deadly version of it than normal besides which pangolin flu is a better name for it in my opinion |

The numbers of deaths here that you could attribute to covid is negligible as they hardly register any higher than the 5 year annual mortality rates on the graph......indeed, they needed to blow up the scale of some of the graphs shown before you could notice any difference. https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/976/cpsprodpb/D6B2/production/_112826945_excess_deaths_2020-06-10_121403.png |
