hmmm...

so locally hospitalisations are up 80 % deaths 400% nationally deaths are up about 80 % week on week

who says this omicron variant is mild it seems to be taking a lot of people out

I think the quarter of a million deaths estimated in the original scientific analysis presented to HMG at the start is looking very realistic at the moment

Well me and most, if not all, of the medical/scientific comnunity.

If you remember this time last year we were dealing with 1000+ deaths a day.

Loads more people have covid, loads more are in hospital, but fewer people are on ventilators.

And a significant amount of people, maybe the majority, are dying with covid rather than of covid.

Mr doom and gloom has a glass that’s empty, not half empty. It’s about time the government stopped putting out these meaningless stats.
For instance, edders stated an increase in death rates in south Kesteven of 400%. It’s actually listed at 300% in todays stats, but the significant thing is the death rate was four, from zero. Tragic for the families of those four. However, it should be recognised that there was an adjustment in the figures in a hangover from the Xmas period. Anyone would think that previous to January 2020, no one died of anything at all.
Back to life, back to reality, now.

And with breathtaking cynicism the Scottish government has allowed crowds of more than 500 at outdoor events, just in time for the six nations. The games could have been played in England otherwise.

the government site I checked gave SKDC at 1367 of which 259 are Stamford and approximately DOUBLE the national average

date quoted 23rd Jan

but at least that's down on the 400 plus per week we have been averaging and only 8 died in SKDC so far in January

heard on 1 interview "the deaths as shown here may NOT be down to covid"........(rather covid+other conditions)

i think the true "pure covid" death count amongst fit non smokers (especially seeing as covid is a respiratory issue) may never be known

Isn’t it high time we stopped giving any credence to the infection figures, comparing rates in one area against another, higher, lower, do they matter anymore? I think not. I know of quite a few people locally who have told me that they have had a positive test, and the symptoms have varied between quite mild and non existent.
Time to get back to life, back to reality, as someone sang once.

Ditch the face mask, ditch all the pointless rules, and live life.

I understand some shops and transportation operators are going to ask the sheeple to continue wearing face coverings. They can ask me, but the answer is no.

Been going into these places for the last few weeks without, and haven’t been challenged, so I doubt that will change.

I know for a fact I’m not going to live for ever, so I’ll just have to die in the attempt.

Nationally figures down but SKDC topped 3000 positives last week up up 90 percent although only 225 of them are Stamford

so we are 0.2 % UK population but 0.5% of all UK cases :-s
