We have just had our busiest day since we started back. It was almost like a proper day. I doubt that it will continue.

It was busier, but still quite a way from being normal.

Be interesting to hear how the night drivers do this evening.

well I took the phones over at 3pm and in the 3 and half hours to now we have done just 14 jobs

although nearly half of those were above £6.00 (biggest £24.00) it is still absolutely dead for a Saturday night

I am told though that most of the pubs are either doing food bookings only or are limited opening until 8pm the only one staying open later is weatherspoons who are planning to open till 22.30

A lot of pubs and restaurants here have stayed closed because some idiots said that there would be coach loads of people coming over from Leicester because of their lockdown. Of course it was total bollo""s but some went straight into panic mode.

I have a booking for this week, first in ages, also had several enquiries for future run prices and availibilty, though I sense people are shopping around in the hope the trades that desperate we'll be offering discounts and I won't be doing that even if others might do.

According to Taxi-Point site, one of the card holder firms had a 175% increase in the number of payments on Saturday, compared with the previous Saturday.

However I think this bit from the piece is more to the point in respect of actual driver earnings.

However, as lockdown measures ease, the volume of taxi drivers increases too. Drivers working may not see an increase to their own individual work levels until the number of drivers returning levels out.

With no figures quoted, 175% of 1 = 1.75. Round it up and one job becomes 2 jobs!

Yesterday we took 63.67% of the amount we took on a Tuesday before lockdown.
Today we are looking at about the same with 3 hours to go before we close at 21.00
