I was asked if I worked for Uber at all, last year.

Insurance companies are always risk averse  would you insure an uber?

There must not be many companies, lots of dodgy insurance certificates were floating around.

Another thing that has just come to light with our new quote is that the company don't insure electric vehicles. This has thrown a spanner in the works because we have a Nissan Leaf. The broker iss trying to ssort out cover at similar terms. He did say that if I hadn't spotted the exclusion and just gone ahead then the company would have had to honour the policy because it was them that missed it on the schedule of vehicles. I don't think I would have liked to have tested that.

Spoke to my insurance broker today about the Uber question.

He said it doesn't effect the premium.

I said in that case under data laws they shouldn't ask and record the answers.

He agreed.

It is a material fact that can alter the risk the insurers are taking.

If it was then the premiums would be different, but my broker assures me it makes no difference.
