A local guy handed his rental car back in april

hes been bidding on schools with no success

he has taken on a rental at £145/week plus service costs to take his OWN son to school on "parents rates", £600/month (full months) on a 15 mile each way job (works out at overall) 50p per mile

for 13 weeks a year he wont get any money off the council, but the car will still cost £145/week...


I said "shoulda bought a £600 banger and been in profit after the 1st month", he replied.... "didnt see the sense having a used car sat around doing nothing! "

(hes PH and not on a base)

Some drivers are doolally, but we are in desperate times.

That said I'm of the opinion drivers shouldn't be paid to take their own kids to school.

County will just have him down as parent, they pay any parent if the parents want...

many years ago there was a contract locally like that but through a taxi firm where the driver was taking his step daughter to a special school in Ipswich. He pulled over in a lay by and raped her! Spent 3 years in prison for it but it goes to show parents aren't always a good option

his partner had 6 kids and the house is always full even though they are all grown up now there is no way he would have got chance :wink:
