Prior to the National lockdown we had the Tier system.

Problem is that with this current lockdown we are all at the top Tier but it's only those that were top Tier prior to November 5th that got the extra cash, and therefore these special grants are only being issued by those councils.
Which to put mildly is not f***ing on.
not strictly true either. This is what is on offer from our council. All Councils have received funding for this from the Government.
*** Business Grants Now Live ***
As promised I said I would provide information on these pages for businesses to apply for over £1.2m of grants from Melton Borough Council. Your business may secure funding from both pots, for example a restaurant may secure additional funding to restock on perishable goods following the closure period.
The Application to access grant funding as a result of the second National lockdown has now gone live. Melton has ben allocated £732,222 towards the Local Restrictions Grant Scheme (Closed) (addendum) which is to support businesses who have been forced to close by government during this lockdown. Melton has also allocated up to £512,000 towards a discretionary scheme (Additional Restrictions Grant fund) to support businesses significantly impacted by the lockdown and that have either been forced to close but are not responsible for business rates or are within particular sectors (more info on MBC website).
To make accessing these grants as easy as possible for businesses we have launched one application form and MBC will determine through which scheme a business can receive a grant, if they are able to do so.
