In the Oxford Vaccine, there were 16 severe cases in the control arm and 0 severe cases in the covid-19 vaccine arm.

If that's the case, can I have both arms done?

Not necessarily new news, more of a reflection of what could have been, and what will be the case.

Dr Jonathan Van-Tam, England’s deputy chief medical officer, has estimated that if a vaccine had already been rolled out to the 22 million people in the 10 groups deemed a priority to receive it, that would have saved 99% of the 58,245 people who have died in the UK from coronavirus since February.

Brilliant news the passing of the Pfizer vaccine, well done to everyone involved in bringing it to market, so to speak.

But the Oxford one is the real game changer, so fingers crossed next week? [-o<

Second World War veteran beats Covid-19 to celebrate 104th birthday

Major Wooten was physically drained and a little fuzzy mentally after contracting coronavirus, but appears to be on the mend, said his granddaughter Holley Wooten McDonald.

“I’m just thankful that they were able to treat him so quickly and we were able to get him tested,” said Ms McDonald, adding: “It’s amazing that a 104-year-old survived Covid.”

Madison Hospital shared video of Mr Wooten wearing a face mask and waving while workers sang “Happy birthday dear Pop Pop” as he was discharged in a wheelchair decorated with balloons on Tuesday, two days before his birthday on Thursday.

Good news 1: Mum & Dad get their jabs next Thursday.

Good news 2, I think: On the same day, I join a vaccine trial at Southampton for the Janssen vaccine. I'm a little apprehensive about the blood tests because I don't give up my blood easily! Still, it's all for the greater good! :-)

I got told today that our local Hospital is at 98% occupancy and are expecting to reach 100 percent by the weekend

So a good excuse to not go and get my blood test done :D
