Most medicals are done similar to HGV regs.

First one on initial application, then one at 45, then each five years until 65, then annually.

I thought that was the norm throughout the UK.

Gov Taxi & PH Best Practise Guidance 2010.

68. It is common for licensing authorities to apply the “Group 2” medical standards –
applied by DVLA to the licensing of lorry and bus drivers – to taxi and PHV drivers. This
seems best practice.

Every 3 years here from starting with your application. My son was 23 when he got his first badge and has been required to have the Council medical (group 2 but not really group 2) every 3 years.

I had my first medical to get licensed then didn’t need another one for 23 years.
