He passed away at 11.30 with me and the wife holding him

Very peacefully, our first every PTS

We are very saddened but happy for him to be free of his illness

He has been collected for cremation, may be back later today

House feels empty even wit 2 other dogs and 2 cats

Remember the good times with him.

My partner lost 2 of her cats which she'd reared from birth with her other cat. One of them had to be PTS due to illness, the mother came up the garden one Sunday howling her head off, dragging herself along. We couldn't work out what was wrong, but her back end had been damaged, whether she'd fallen, got hit by a car (probably not as we live in a rural area) or been attacked by another animi. It's the first time I've seen a cat voluntarily get in a cat box. took her to the vet who charged a fortune, kept her in overnight and wanted to do all sorts of tests costing a lot of money. The cat was in agony so we done the decent thing. Poor little thing.

A while later our outdoor cat who came with the house was attacked by a dog in the garden and killed. We still have my late mother's cat who is still missing his friends, he wanders round the garden all day crying out for them.

We lost our last dog to a seizure in 2001 at 2am, vet wouldnt come out, a few weeks later our cat came home limping, his rear hip joint was snapped off (the ball end), we couldnt face having him PTS so soon after losing the dog so we paid £325, the vet removed the broken ball, smoothed off the end of the leg, after a few weeks the cat was fine....
