Uber have taken out full page adverts, in the Telegraph at least, extolling the virtues of, well Uber.

Their sickness cover, pension contributions, holiday pay, open university courses and new parent payment, only available with Uber.

No mention of drivers being “employed” though.

Wonder how long it will be before they demand a level playing field?

There's an interesting article in The Next Web pointing out why Uber are desperate for drivers to come back to them.

https://thenextweb.com/news/unfortunate ... share-taxi

However it points out why if they come back, they may not stay back.

I think we will all be ok, however Uber have millions of shareholders who would like to see a return on their investments before they die.

Not sure that will happen for many of them.

No they don't the vast majority of the shares are owned by British and American pension funds if they go under it will be pension pots that will take the hit

On a side note I went to BHX today for the first time in 2 years and Uber are now the official Private Hire partners of BHX with an Uber call device just outside the terminal exit doors

They have never paid a dividend, and their shareprice is currently about 7.5% higher than when they went public just over 2 years ago.

Folks would have been better off investing Mars Bars which have gone up by over 10%.
