We take 2 grandsons on narrow gauge steam heritage lines, a local one we visited 4 times in 2019 is reopen, all its prices at up 33%

a family ticket to the next event (2 adults/2 kids) is £70

cant justify that, when we went we were also buying food/drink and gifts

good luck to them

they are having to limit numbers due to covid but costs are the same

Many steam railways are doing this and charging £60 to £70 for a compartment in a carriage it's the only way they can be viable

Many enthusiasts are willing to pay out of sympathy for the railway which are NOT businesses as such

That maybe so, but let’s see if the prices return to pre-COVID levels when the visitor numbers are increased.

doubt it there are predictions of inflation hitting 5 to 10 percent over the next couple of years as businesses recover their losses

Best is, its a registered charity

I thought they could only ask for donations as such?

we spent over £150 there last year, bit shortsighted to hike prices and lose visitors

Heard today on the radio that Butlins are charging £1000s for holidays at their venues.

Never thought I would ever see that, not in a million years.

That said I wouldn't go to one of those places for SFA.
