Very few problems filling up around the Chester area now. The weekend was a bit hit and miss but still managed to top up here and there. Have noticed the prices creeping up though. :doubt:

no fuel available locally just a little of the expensive stuff at Shell every station sells out within 24 hours and loads of cars driving into and out of stations all day got 3 quarters of a tank left at moment but not sure when the next opportunity to get fuel will come along

today we had roads blocked with cars parked with signs on saying out of fuel

I had no problem filling four cars today. When I was paying for one fill up the person in front of me paid for here fuel........................£6.98!!!! but my son was told of one chap that filled up at Tesco in Melton and spilled some on the floor and his cost was £0.91. I thought the minimum delivery was supposed to be 2 litres.

Fuel is getting to the petrol stations but it's getting sold out within hours via panicky people.

Large queues at almost all stations that are open, but the most folks are waiting is 30 minutes.

And this is how desperate some people are getting

Mortar tanker tailed by drivers looking for petrol

How can you not know the difference between a cement tanker and a fuel tanker

Keep calm and carry on.

At least in Lincoln anyway.

Maybe it helps being only 30 miles away from one of the UK’s biggest refineries.

I have every respect for HGV drivers, dad was one, he wouldnt drive fuel tankers when asked, i recall the fuel tanker that hit a flyover support under the A38 near Aston Birmingham a few years back and exploded, no driver remains could be identified due to the intensity of the fire...

UK refineries were built before the expansion in the diesel car market so mainly produce petrol, cannot be converted and can only produce 45 weeks of diesel needed per year, hence we import refined diesel from overseas

Queues seem more reasonable now, but still nearly half of all local petrol stations close at some time during the day.

One closest to where I live has had queues all day but at least they have stayed open, so maybe people are only topping up rather than filling from empty.

2 locally had fuel today but both were really busy Morrisons which sells most fuel locally is really struggling to get fuel in

but I'm starting the week with a full tank and am hopeful once it goes down to half or less i will be able to top up
