As the UK continues to open up following lockdown, we want to provide more earnings opportunities to drivers who partner with us. As a result, from Monday 18 October 2021 at 11:00AM, drivers on the app across the North West and Midlands will be able to take trips across a broader geographical area.

If you are licensed by any of the councils listed below, you will now be eligible to take trips across both the Midlands and North West. That includes areas covering Leicester, Nottingham, Birmingham, Derby, Stoke, Merseyside and Manchester.

Birmingham City Council

Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council

Bury Metropolitan Borough Council

Cheshire West & Chester Council

City of Wolverhampton Council

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council

Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council

Leicester City Council

Liverpool City Council

Manchester City Council

Oldham Council

Rochdale Borough Council

Rossendale Borough Council

Salford City Council

Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council

Trafford Council

Sefton Council

Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council

St Helens Council

Walsall Council

So basically this is all about Uber relaxing its 'geofencing' policy slightly?

But which maybe underlines that geofencing was little more than a PR gimmick to start with. I mean, is geofencing of any real practical relevance if a driver can work in Liverpool, Birmingham, Manchester, Stoke or Nottingham on the same plate?

And all on a plate issued by the likes of Sefton, Rossendale or Solihull councils? :-s
