Hi everyone

CCTV Has become one of the most talked-about Issues and has divided the trade in some parts, myself I am in favour of it becoming part of the trade there are arguments on both sides of the issue I think It would be good for the trade as a whole what are the views on there.

Should be optional till an AOP is passed requiring it for all

Right now £600 per install, £150 to swap from 1 vehicle to another and a £50 trade in for used units is almost theft in itselfe

We have had it compulsory in B&H for about 10 years now.

When it was first muted about 15 years ago it's fair to say only two drivers were banging the compulsory drum. I'm quite confident in saying that now at least 95% of the trade support it.

It has saved dozens of drivers their licenses/livlihoods.

In short an absolute no-brainer.

Won’t be a concern for you now you’ve announced your retirement, will it?

Or will it?

First set up I had cost £350 and the office bought systems in bulk and drivers paid a tenner a week interest-free.

The second system I've had is £20 a month including all downloads and yearly checks.

Neither of the above options are costs that any driver couldn't reasonably meet.

Especially when the likes of Westminster give a 10/15% discount on your insurance premium.

Some drivers are actually financially better off.

So that's the cost scaremongering dealt with.

But even if it was £600 in one go, is that really too much to ensure your livelihood is secure from false and nasty accusations/complaints, and a huge deterrent from the local scroats?

My experience of said scroats is that the worst thing that can happen to them is to get caught.
