So prior September 2021 their where 5 councils with 5 different Hackney carriage zones. High Wycombe (No Limit, Prior Dereg Saloon, Post WAV) South bucks (No limit, Saloon) Chiltern (No limit, Saloon) Aylesbury (Limited at 50, 100% WAV) Aylesbury Vale (No limit, 100% WAV) Now after September 2021 all councils where merged into 1 council 1 operating zone as Buckinghamshire council. But now any New additional Hc has to be under 5 years old WAV and grandfather rights have been given to saloon plate holders so they can stay and always replace as saloon but WAV has to stay WAV. The argument is prior 2010 Aylesbury & Aylesbury vale where saloon but new council proposals forced them into converting to Wav, Is it fair that now under the same council but the rules do not apply same to everyone? surely not fair that 1 person who has a big high uncomfortable wav which costs more to buy and run and the other person is allowed to operate a Saloon which costs less to buy and run and is the preferred choice the customers use on the rank? Also the Buckinghamshire test centre is in Aylesbury so Aylesbury and Aylesbury vale drivers have to get an appointment at council test centre sometimes weeks waits and stricter testing when Wycombe, South bucks and Chiltern are allowed to get their vehicles tested by other approved garages and just provide a Test certificate Surely this new policy is not fair for all? and also the new fare are T1 £3 first half mile then £2 per miles, T2 (Or T1 minibus rate) £4.50 first half mile then £3.40 per miles, T3 (Or T2 minibus rate) £6 first half mile then £3.60 per miles which are too high What are the Legal ways that can be taken so all rules for all are the same? |

Of course it's not fair, but when did councils ever assess fairness when dealing with the taxi/PH trade. The new policy is convenient for them, fairness was, IMO, never an option. |

That's the council being dogmatic and stupid. If there is a testing station near you that has been passed by the council, then drivers should be able to use it. I'm guessing your local trade doesn't have decent trade representation? |

Quote: What are the Legal ways that can be taken so all rules for all are the same? In my opinion it's not worth it, as it will drag on forever, cost you a small fortune and most courts won't go against a democratic council unless the new rules are madness. Now I understand that you might view them as madness, but I'm not convinced folks outside of your area will. I suspect many in Aylesbury will be most miffed as at one time those plates were going for £100,000 plus. |

So what are the different vehicle criteria for B&H licensed hackneys? 1. Some saloon hackneys can remain saloon hackneys for good. 2. Some WAV hackneys can revert back to saloon hackneys. 3. Some WAVs hackneys must always be WAV hackneys. 4. Some WAV hackneys must always be WAV hackneys and attached to an operator. 5. Some WAV hackneys can revert to electric/hybrid saloon hackneys, and vice-versa. Welcome to my world.
