Pete you know where  don't forget if your council insists meters start low then tiny fares result so for instance yesterday I did 11 fares under £3.00 also in many parts of the UK the taxi/ph trade is still very competitive and in some areas the punters simply can't afford higher fares |

Think we had a two-pound start about 18 years ago. But not many fares stayed on the flag. In fact our flag is now £3.00, but I don't think I have ever done a £3.00 job since it became £3.00. In fact part 2, I don't think I've done more than a handful of minimum fares ever. |

The hackney's here have a £3.00 flag for 1/3 of a mile. Our minimum is £3.20 for 1/2 of a mile. |

Milton keynes Skyline & Speedline for years charged £2.50 for first 1.5 mile then around 2010 changed it to 1 mile, Then upped it to £3 for the first 1.5 mile few years after then after many complaints by drivers and protests went to £3.70 but still 1.5 mile. and from the long as I can remember was 90p per mile then changed to £1.10 a mile thereafter and still today 2021 it £3.70 for first 1 mile and £1.10 mile thereafter but now bolt is here its £1 a mile which equivalent to Hackney we are £2 per mile in day £ starting 1/4 mile and after 11pm £4 1/2 mile and £2.40 per mile after. |
