The safety car had just left the track to allow one lap dash. All the lapped cars between them had been allowed to pass the safety car first so that it was a straight race. before the safety car came out there were about 6 laps left and Hamilton was about 11 seconds in front. Verstappen had been in the pits for fresh tyres whilst the safety car was out. I don't usually watch F! but I did today and the result was contrived to make sure verstappen won.

The lady has sung and she is not singing a Mercedes tune.

Think Lewis was mugged, and the race controller bottled it, but doubt Lewis will be too unhappy going back to his penthouse in Monaco and his 100s of millions in the bank.

I wanted Lewis to win today just to beat Schumacher’s record. Next season I’m a George Russel fan, Lewis is a fantastic driver but I can’t be doing with all the drama around BLM and the Rainbow crowd. :doubt:

Lewis is older than Max, he has 8 championship titles under his belt, maybe Indycar or Sportscar/Endurance racing beckons?

Mansell was f1 AND Indy car champ at the same time (seasons overlap)

I think he only has 7 championship titles in F1.

I thought it was 7 equalling Schumacher

apparently Hamilton said over the radio "this has been manipulated"

that said I vaguely recollect Hamilton winning after using the safety car to his advantage
