"it is your legally contracted obligation to operate the route"

4 weeks notice or penalties imposed

so was son ill in october, couldnt arrange/find cover, county sacked us off the route but they found cover

officially (in the contract) they COULD impose a fine of whatever cover costs for the remaining whole term of the contract

if they sack a firm off system they can do that for ALL the firms runs

Ah. so you can quit but you just haven't tendered 4 weeks notice. So it is your fault for not planning ahead. What a moby!

If you do cancel your insurance, sit down when you make your call. I renewed December 22nd. Cost £900. Cancellation fee of £100. Refund of £395.

Its not quite as simple as that but yes, i could have put in a months notice January 18th, BUT..............i only got my plate January 6th so i SHOULD have given 4 weeks then, or before, or not bothered...but its a decent paid route, and im a pensioner...
