You will have to carry those kids to school now.

A contract is a contract.

Basically, if i cannot do the route, county can fine me in the sum of whatever amount another contractor wants to cover it for the whole period left on the route.

If they sack a contractor they can do the same for EVERY route for the life of the routes

no sentiment there is there, death in service is not an option

county decided all contractors, drivers, base staff and assistants should have a "schools" badge, the 1st one took 2 years to come out, the next was allowed to be acceptable when expired, only school badged staff can do school runs

I fought Leics over TUPE when they wanted to award one of our contracts to a cheaper provider and I won that one.

Synchronicity doing its work.

Just giving you that extra nudge on your decision to leave the trade.

When these things happen they are good omens and reinforce your original decision on the matter.

In relation to your contract job, can you pass the work on to another driver?

There must be wriggle room in the contract to do so.

Just pay a driver the same amount you receive for each journey either in advance or after every day of the job completed.

I am sure there are plenty of drivers around who would happily do it for you unless you did what many do in the area I worked in and got the contract by underbidding all competition thus working for peanuts.

Good luck!
