I'm visiting "oop narth" driving tram replacement buses for a Blackpool bus operator this week, a far cry from home in Ashford Kent. They're so short of bus drivers here the rate of pay is shall we say "rather enticing". I was warned about the chaos with the taxis and private hire cars round the side of Piccadilly Station on Saturday evenings and Sundays, totla chaos but fun to watch. Whilst sitting watching, I noticed that the U**r cars round here have a large yellow sticker proclaiming the operator name on each side, as though it's a warning to the punter to beware. One pulled across in front of me with a yellow sticker proclaiming "Licenced in Hastings"!! Working in Manchester. Is that taking the pi$$ or what? Yes I know it's legal. Just sayin'. |

I suspect the driver was just taking the pi**. The way Uber do their areas they wouldn't allow someone licensed in Hastings to work there, and I'm not sure Uber has a Hastings ops license. |

It's a pity I was driving a bus at the time or I would have taken a photo of it! Maybe the ity of Manchester accept "the law" as it is and warns punters "this driver is not from here". |
