all taxi meters must be dispayed on the dash in view of the passenger, how about this one, quite legal to use as it can be sealed

The first thing that struck me was the fact the seller got the name wrong. I've had Halda meters in the past but I've never had a "Halder" meter.

Closer inspection reveals that pictures never tell lies.

Another name used by the company at the time was Haldex

It's interesting to see the advert says '1960's' and not 'pre decimal', as the same model meter with shillings and pence can be quite valuable!

the meter on view wasnt taken out of a purpose built vehicle as purpose built vehicles had a 'flag' which stated 'for hire', the driver would move the flag when hired.

This model has a handle on the left hand side (and is in view) which was primed each day to charge waiting time.

The handle on the right was used to hire the meter.
