Does anyone know why that in some areas with mixed fleets the WAVs all seem to operate in one area.

For example, Fife Council license both saloons and WAVs as HCs, but the WAVs only seem to work in Kirkcaldy.

The same seems to be the case in Sefton where all the WAVs work out of Bootle and in Southport there are mainly saloons.

Are there council requirements for the WAVs to work out of the busier shopping areas?

I spend a fair amount of time in the Fife area, and whenever I am there I have never seen a TX working out of Glenrothes. Go down o Kirkcaldy though and there are quite a few.

That's certinly beent he case whenever I've been there.

You are correct in the fact no-one runs a TX in Glenrothes but your original post said WAV's, and there is a couple of WAV's in Glenrothes, 3 or 4 on the rank and another few on PH. I actually took my WAV off the rank and put a PH plate on mine, 6 months on the rank and not one wheelchair hire or phone call for a wheelchair hire, now being used as an 8 seater
