for the first 30 minutes I thought England were going to blow it but fortunately a change of tactics and we became the dominant side BUT we rode our luck a lot in that 1st half and against a side like France we would have been 2-0 down

I felt a bit sorry for Japan as they were always going to be second best against a team with penalty shoot out experience.

As for Korea well I'm not going to bother with the second half because you know Argentina are just going to treat it like a practice session.

I think the coach was a bit Naïve going for 4-4-2 against a front line like that the penalty was a bit harsh but Korea were well beaten. I had hoped they'd make more of a match of it but hey ho.

well that was a shock Neymar did nowt all game then popped up before HTET I thought lazy Brazil had snatched it but somehow Croatia dug out an equalizer and they have never lost a penalty shoot out in a world cup game so Brazil out!

but to be fair they have only shown up half the time.

I fancy Holland to beat the Albicelestes but you never know

well the Dutch strategy of trying to bore Argentina to into submission seemed to have failed so they tried the long ball game and amazingly took it to extra time then played for penalties oh dear.

So Lionel Messi still on course to get his world cup winners medal but how many yellow cards 18 and not one player sent off until after the final penalty kick !

well it was definitely a foul if not a penalty it should have been a free kick.

Is it me or are England being singled out by the refs ? I was listening to the radio before the England USA match and apparently the training videos for the tournament referees all featured England games.

It's looking more and more like an Argentina vs France final unless our luck and the refereeing changes.

I see Sussex was posting during the game which surprised me I thought he would watch this one mind you it doesn't feature any Brighton players
