I received this email from Leicestershire County Council. Dear operator We are aware that strike action is being called by the NEU teaching union across several dates in February and March, which may have an impact on the requirements for Leicestershire County Council to transport eligible students to schools and colleges. At this point, schools have not shared with us details of impact of these strikes on their school and therefore we are not able to share them with you. Some schools may be closed completely, some schools may be partially closed or fully open so transport may still be required. As per our contract conditions, it is the responsibility of the operator to confirm the opening and closing dates for their contracts directly with the schools/colleges and if an operator becomes aware that a school/college is closed or is going to be closed, then they must inform the Council as soon as possible. Please inform us by email to etdcentraladmin@leics.gov.uk with these updates, putting “School strikes” in the subject line. Please provide your operator details, the school, contract number and the date(s) of confirm closure/operation. The proposed strike dates for schools in the East and West Midlands are listed below. Wednesday 1 February 2023 Wednesday 1 March 2023 Wednesday 15 March 2023 Thursday 16 March 2023 Please accept this as notice of potential non-operation days on the above dates. It is possible that later dates may be called off, therefore it is vitally important that you maintain contact with the school. Please refer to the relevant contract conditions for the contract for the notice periods and payment levels for each type of contract. I sent the following reply. Dear Sirs, Making the operators responsible for knowing if the school is open or not when you can't even find out is a bit unreasonable. it is my understanding that the teachers who will go on strike do not even have to tell the school in advance that they will be on strike so how will we be able to check for certain that a school is open or closed BEFORE we leave to pick up the students if the school still does not know? very very harsh as if you don't have enough to do ! Maybe taxi contractors should threaten to strike over these unfair T & C's |

The Spanish Inquisition was gentler One reason i jacked in if your (my) engine self destrucys at 8am who will cover given the cover must be a county contractor and the driver must have a COUNTY school badge... rocking hoss poo is easier to find |
