Still in the £1.50s here.

Tesco at Gatwick (cheapest around) is £1.56 for diesel.

not for long OPEc is helping Putin get revenge on the west for trying to destabilise and damage his country. The Russian economy is growing faster than any "western" country it seems to be game set and match Putin with oil prices likely to gain another 10 percent by the end of October.

It's only growing faster because it's starting from a lower starting point and any growth percentage would look big.

Haven't really been paying too much attention, but amazed that prices are softening with all that's kicking off in the Middle East :-o

Think it's a case of demand falling, and oil producers desperate for money.

I'm still not sure how much of an effect EVs are having on demand. At some point it's got to be significant.

And then there were 5

grangemouth refinery to close

Scotland's only oil refinery could cease operations as soon as 2025 under plans announced by owners Petroineos.

The company said Grangemouth had been facing significant challenges because of global market pressures.

Petroineos intends to turn the site into a fuels import terminal which would result in the loss of at least 400 jobs.

which will leave the uk even more vulnerable to world market fluctuations

As this refinery is part owned by the chinese I suspect the plan is to refine it in china and ship it half way round the world to Scotland
