before the pandemic we had a council office in town from where you could collect your plate. SKDC used the pandemic as an excuse to close said office and made no provisions for servicing the trade locally as you then had to drive to Bourne 12 miles away to collect the plate.

But now you have to either drive 45 miles to grotsville and back or you can collect from bourne with a £10 courier fee :shock:

for that price I would expect courier to my door !

but is it fair that drivers in grantham can collect their plate locally whilst others have an expensive journey or hefty courier fees ?

Also do any other councils charge drivers courier fees for their plates ?

We can collect ours from the Council offices or they will post them out at no extra charge.

edders23 wrote: Also do any other councils charge drivers courier fees for their plates ? no, plates came by Royal mail in lockdown though they did fold the vinyl door stickers to fit in the package which left a crease down the middle.... when they started handing them over with the office locked to the public she said "use the back door"....
