Taxi Driver Online

Our Council has just released that they are issuing new Hack plates to Wheelchair accessible Taxis
Options are LTI TX4, VITo Taxi which can be any as long as it meets Euro6 Standard and Ford tourneo etc which has to be max 4 Years old,
Town around 80k Population currently 100 Hacks been limited since last 30+ years previous Plate was around 40k

My preference would be TX4 as currently seen a 16 plate for a reasonable amount

My question is what would be the Average MPG?

The fares are currently

5am-10:30pm Start £4 first 176 Yards then it’s about £2.15 per mile
10:30pm-5am Start £6 first 176 Yards then it’s about £3.30 per mile

So please anyone who has experience with TX4 Auto what is average MPG for Local Town Stop/ Start traffic
And Long Motorway?

You need to factor in that parts/service for a Euro6 TX4 can be a problem in some areas.

Personally, I wouldn’t go near the transit. Either the TX4, (as long as previously mentioned someone near to you knows about them) or the Vito, again ball park 35mpg if mostly town work.

A couple of my mates have got EURO 6 Fords and they do alright with them.

Having 8 seats helps.

The fords I been told average 27mpg and they have a lot of faults
Especially with transmissions as I need auto
