I recently dropped off at Stansted airport, the first time I have done so in a long time. I dropped off outside the terminal. As I was approaching the exit barriers I noticed that some of them were permanently open so I just drove out of one of those. I have just received a charge notice. Have any of you had similar and did you appeal? How did the appeal go?

never encountered that situation but have seen them open the barriers and release individual cars because they were causing massive Queues

I think you need to write to them and suggest that the open barriers were suggesting that they had suspended the charging regime and offer to pay the £7.00 (or has it gone up now ?) charge

Have you looked at MSM's parking forum and Pepipoo to see how others have fared?

I wonder what happened there then.

Had a lot of on-the-ball individuals on it.

probably a funding issue with so much traffic to and from the site there were probably some big bills and it wasn't a commercial business charging for advice

Not sure about that.

If they put in place google ads that would more than cover any hosting fees.

Ads would pay little to the site which is why the newspapers, youtube and most sites providing content to the net push the subscription options

Dear XXXXX,
My ref:
Date:
1300000040330000
01 October 2024
Thank you for your email concerning the above Parking Charge Notice (PCN).
The PCN was issued for the following contravention: Parked without payment for the period.
After careful consideration, I have decided to cancel the above PCN however please note
that this does not form a precedent which can be relied upon as in the future another PCN
may be issued which may be enforced.
Yours sincerely
Parking Services
For and on behalf of NSL Ltd and
MAG London Stansted Airport

Pepipoo's holding company Pepitec Ltd has closed down according to Companies House. We suspect the owners were fed u with it, hence some of the long-standing volunteers started the new site mentioned above. the new site is flourishing with most of the PPP regulars now on there offering free advice. I'm on there under the same name as here.
