Dear all There was a number of articles over here on the continent that allegedly, taxi drivers are very sought after in UK. According to the press, taxi companies are so desparately in need of drivers that they started recruiting in Prague and other central european cities. A recruitment agency claims on their website that you can make 300 to 500 net per month as a taxi driver in Swindon.. or Inverness... That sounds too good to be true - 1,200 to 2,000 net??? I cannot believe this! What is your say about this? Any comment welcome! Cheers from Berlin Hygrocybe |

Anyway, I don't think that taxi firms' desperation to recruit drivers is any indication of earnings, since where I work firms are desperate to recruit drivers even though most are earning below the minimum wage. |

Do you think that's because they can't earn, or nights are not an attractive option safety/life-style wise?

£300 to £500 per week was not hard to earn about 10 years ago when i was in Cheshunt Herts and that was for about 30 hours work, however i honestly dont think i could say the same for nowadays, i might be wrong but i suspect not

Yes, for Mr Berlin it's £300-£500 per month. For the rest it's £300-£500 per week. For GBC it's £300-£500 per night.
