its not fair when the council smack ranks everywhere, outside clubs, pubs, hotels, casinos, the city centre is almost off limit. its almost a monopoly, infact it is one. we paid ££££'s for a contract, only too see a rank being made and the contract worthless. honestly its scandalous. |

Ranks everwhere and a one licensing system, no need to be paying out £££££ for contracts the clubs could then give the poor old cabbie a bung to sit on the rank outside his club. |

we have a new superstore recently built in our town, replacing the old one. The old store had a free phone in for our ph company, and so does the new one. But the new one also has a taxi rank right outside it. The amount of 'no jobs' we now get from there is beyond beliefe... |

I can't believe the customers you have contracts with don't appeal or object to the ranks.

i think the ranks are good, in town centres where people shop and want to get out. HCs are not safe at all, they have the dodgiest drivers, dodgiest cars, dodgiest meters and no safety for customer or driver. PHV's are recorded from the moment they pick up to the moment they drop off so there is safety for customer and driver, plus the route is monitored so there is no scope for arguement on the fare price. |

But the fitness and propriety of a HC driver is usually the same (if not over and above) that of PH drivers. CC |

Some of your previous posts were nonsense, but I see the trend is still there. Were you previously the holder of a Taxi licence by any chance? Luckily in London everyone knows which side of the trade is dodgy.

trust me, PH might have non-english speaking drivers but these Hackneys have the biggest egos bar none. these guys are not regulated day to day, the complaints procedure is all red tape, we can take a driver off the road in a matter of minutes but these guys can kill someone and rape someone without anyone finding out till the next day. OK them examples were extreme but you can see what im getting at. PH has a sense of security, the firm is there, a phone call away. i jumped into a hac from town, asked him to take me to a certain street and he asked for guidance????? ffs man, i pay for peace not to be alert at your every move! |

God I wish our LA was so nice. We've lost 3 major working ranks in our town over the last 18 months and there's no chance of any replacements. We currently have 3 working city centre daytime ranks, approx 50 spaces. We are never given rank space outside major supermarkets, that trade goes directly to PH phones in the store. |
