Any advice on cleaning up vomit, products used, methods, getting rid of smells etc, thanx.

Get all the vomit off the upholstery then get a bit of flash and rub it in, it might take the smell away. I can remember last year I had a chukkie, I cleaned it up the best I could but the smell was still there, I ended up having it steamed cleaned and valeted.

Head for the nearest garage, stick £1 in and get as much off as possible, VAX carpet cleaner works well as long as you use a wet n dry vac to suck as much out as possible.
Ive only had one, ever. More luck than judgement, but if they look to peed then they dont get in and if they say they feel sick on the way, its out of the door they go, or they keep their head outa the window all the way!

I had a 'head out the window' job the other week, but as often happens some of it ended up on the inside of the door, and some of it ended up either side of the side window glass.

So for a few weeks every time I put the window up it was smeared all up the inside :-&

Funny that, a potential honker only tonight tried her luck, this bird gets in sheepishly, as I turns round to view whot we are going to carry she says to me "I am not going to be sick" as I viewed her whiter than a sheet face, thats ok I says, but you won't be travelling in this motor thank you very much

her boyfriend who brought her to the rank said she's ok, she doesn't feel well and has to get home, She'll pay if she's sick, promise you

I don't know why we have to take the risk what with TB disease on the increase, anything brought up from the gut and left in the cab is germs, could be big style and risk to your health

you know that when they breath on you when they get in the cab as they tell you where they are going, spalter you with spittle or bad breath in your face, some of these people aint healthy

our Council allow us 26 quid for fouling charge, 26 quid some of these people haven't got 26 quid, how much is a proffession clean, around 60 quid

our Council [York] in their wisdom have put on the fare charts Fouling charge if Alcohol induced 26 quid, they could say O I have been sick in your cab but it was not alcohol so no charge

I had an older bloke who spaltered the passenger windows with a bit of sick, got to his house [big business fella], said the fare is 6 quid, plus soiling charge, eventually his wife came out to the taxi to see what was going on, she worked it out it was only worth a tenner, hows that work

So whats the procedure with honkers if you already have them in the cab

your travelling taxi style, one decides/they decide they don't feel well, need to get out to be sick

1 do you get them back in, open all windows and drive like the clappers
2 tell them to F off and leave em
3 take a chance it won't/might not happen again

have you noticed that the honker leaves the door open so you can't move off straight away and leans out the door spattering the cab door interior, here's me shouting get away from the door and do it, get outside

The two tips that are useful.,1 always carry a couple of disposable plastic shopping bags, keep them handy by you...ie under your front seat.. glove box... and if you think someone is about to be sick give them one..
2. I always used to carry a plastic bucket with a container of water, spray bottle of flash or something similar, a handful paper, some plastic gloves and a bin bag, they all fit in the bucket and take up a very little room......

If they're in the motor then I suppose 1 is the best, with the head well out of the window.

Maybe you could pull over and suggest they get out of the car to chuck up, then put your foot down and leave them with the spew.

But maybe the best way to advoid spewers is to work days. :D

I got to a point here that people wouldn't even ask drivers to stop for them to get out and puke.

Maybe they were concerned the driver would [edited by admin] off. :lol:

Touching everything wooden that I can find I've never had anyone actually throw up in my cab - slightest sign and they hit the pavement whether they like it or not!

Having said that the kids have been sick in the car a couple of times and after the initial clear up - hand up a couple of Vanilla Magic Trees - nothing can overpower them :)

I do carry a bucket and several carrier bags in the car and always point out that throwing up is expensive a nice big hundred quid - and offer to come back in half an hour once they've sobered up! Works every time. Don't take the risk!
