Yes I know I'm female, blonde and a cabbie so yes I'll be the brunt of many a joke on the ranks but ............. Recently I changed offices for personal reason; ok so the boss was a merchant banker and sexist and an arrogant I have always undertaken a lot of VIP work as a result of having previously run a Limo co and as a result I normally work wearing a shirt and tie (I don't care if I'm female its what is expected) I have always undertaken a lot of distance work and have only once had a problem with this. I am more likely to be out working in the middle of the night than pussy footing about during the day! Anyway - what I am really asking is how do I deal with my former office and the untrue rumours that they are spreading about me? They have taken the truth and bent it to their own means. I will admit that I did have a problem on a long run (1400 mile round trip and they gave me 9 hours to do it!) once - yes I did pass out .............. my appendix had ruptured and there was sweet FA I could do about it! And I was back on the road within 72 hours! Now I could point out that this former co is running at least one vehicle illeagally and yes I have got the reg no and serial number for the meter fitted in this car that will never pass compliance as the engine is too small so that excuse won't work! Or that account customers are being charged the meter rate plus 20% but I won't! I drive a cab because I want to and because it fits in around my disabled son's needs andwell being. I don't do it to flirt, pick up men, gain attention etc. so don't view me like that! Just remember if you put in a 13 I'll probably be the first one there. I'm sorry this has got long winded; but I really needed to let it out. I feel a lot better now thank you

I would also ask the LO is investigate if they are 'fit and proper'? Or a solicitors letter might help. But do something, don't just sit there and take it.

1400 mile round trip. Even 10 hours at 70 MPH - 700 miles. |

have a word with your ex-boss. he has no control over you anymore so you can say what you like to him. tell him to shut the f up or you'll tell the council about his dodgey goings on. he has more to lose than you. |

Trigger, I am sure that if you are a A1 person then the people that matter will know, and the others just give them some knitting needles and wool...

I'd report it as well, but rumours are everywhere in this industry as we all know. Christ if we belived everything we hear "who's humping who" and so on we'd never get anything done. A quiet word in your LO's ear might help. |

Thanks for the advice; and apologies again for going off on one but it just really got to me. No names; but thanks to the person that e-mailed me a "nicely" worded letter to the LO and my former boss - they will be in the post first thing Monday morning.
You lot are great because you have made me realise what was staring me in the face - the best way that I can deal with this is to carry on being professional, not to retaliate on a personal basis ........ oh and take all their work away from them via the fair means of providing a more reliable and courteous service. |
