Just thinking guys, what if we had to choose someone from this site to represent us for something, who would you choose and why? I would choose John Davies for his clarity of thought and his polite style or maybe the, sadly missing Dusty bin(where are you dusty) or Sussex man just for his persevering stance in the face of adversity and his sometimes lone vioce in the wilderness determination to see an end to what he feels is an injustice, anyway guys let me hear your thoughts on your chosen one's, oh and lets keep it light hearted

I think the latter would be, by far, the best candidate.
But if I was a betting man, the Bin chap would be odds on, with JD not far behind.

Hmmmmm. Well, I would have to say JD as he argues based only on well-sourced fact, then qualifies any opinion he gives. He then argues in a diplomatic and non-confrontational style, without putting down, or (appearing) to look down on people who are less clever than he (other than Nidge), and is thus more likely to get more widespread support. Tom would be my second choice, but his perspective is more from the businessman than the driver in the street. Our old mate Yorkie would be a favourite too. As he inspires others, either to better things, or to thoughts of violence. So there would never be a dull moment, and we'd get plenty of publicity. He is definately in the John Prescott style.
I would say Sussex, but he is already too busy on here and driving around Brighton and the Sussex coast <Evil grin> I would nominate Dusty as Publicity Officer and Solicitor. Nidge as complaints office manager. Alex as public relations (cos he's always nice aint he). Claude as Orkney Islands representative and Trade Development Officer for London Minicabs. Then it would have to be GedMay for spokesman on Airports and PSV regulations. Captain Cab would be first choice as head of "witty sarcastic comments just dropped into the conversation to see if anyone noticed" Mick would have to be our Angel of The North with responsibilities for constructive support for Councils. Our Dundee spokeman would just have to be Transvestite Cabby (just to bring a bit of glamour into the proceedings), but we would have to make it a condition that he shaved his beard off first. |

However, seeing as how Sussex likes the hands on touch, I've made him a little website just in case he wants to start up his own organisation. I've even named it for him, all he has to do is put a little effort into it and he can become a stakeholder just like the other elements of the trade. All you have to do is add some content sussex, sort the membership form out and your up and running lol. http://homepage.virgin.net/freedom.uk/home2.html Best wishes John Davies. |

if it was for a representatve for scotland id vote for larry duncan if he,s still alive , he,s not been seen for some time and every time a body has been discovered every cabby shouts there,s old lars, apart from him id vote for myself as no one else could be arxxd doing the scottish end of things ,a mandatory register of drivers before they drive your cab would get rid of the part timers and the dole dossers leaving more for the honest ,this would be a good starting point for a representitive also larrys attempt to only give office sets to cabs in which the plate holder actually drives would also reap rewards, for the honest ops, the last person i would like to represent the scottish side is graham stevens the head of dundee dta, im not even going to bother posting the rubbish he,s spreading at the moment,if it was for a representative for the whole country id vote for dusty mainly because i first thought he was a female and had visions of what she looked like, but also because he/she knows more about our trade than anybody else i know... |
