Post subject:  Enviromental Issues and Taxation.

Being a person who gets a headache with listening to music all the time I spend most of my time listening to Talksport while at work.

James Whale in particular has had a number of guests on his show who are providing evidence that global warming is a natural phenomenon and the noises being raised by government are being made to excuse increased taxation.

I'm now undecided as to whether all of these international "eviromental issues" are factual or is Mr Whale right.

I think that a lot of issues and costs which effect us are suggested to have an "enviromental" impact and I'm really questioning if this is justified.

You're right to raise the point GA, its all a load of rubbish being spouted by those tree hugging hippies (sitting on fences is a pain in the backside anyway).

Today's evidence of global warming is that it is about 1 below zero here, roll on global warming!

I remember geography lessons at school (in the sixties, the nineteen sixties) warned we were overdue the next iceage.

Is road pricing, (and congestion charging) nothing other than "roads for the rich?"

It very probably is Jimbo ................. but I would suggest that the real rich rarely travel on the roads now.

Roads a revenue making system from those who have become depenant on their cars count how much taxation the government impose .......... VAT on new vehicle purchases, fuel duty, road tax, VAT on fuel and I'm sure you could add the VAT on every part of keeping the thing on the road and I bet there is a very tidy sum.

This supposed "enviromental" issue is only justification for increased taxation and as you know ou can get away with anything if you can justify it.

I knew my investment in hovercraft would eventually pay off

More seriously, environment to us sceptics means more ways of exhorting cash.
